چکیده

Pyrenophora tritici-repentis (Ptr) is a causal agent of tan spot in wheat Kazakhstan, as it has been around the world. The pathogen produces host-specific toxins which interact with host sensitivity loci. aim this study was 1) to identify whether selected Kazakhstani isolates P. tritici- repentis possessed Ptr toxin genes ToxA and/or ToxB and 2) varieties resistant HST ToxB. As result analysis frequency occurrence PTR races, found that races 7 (25%) 8 (41.6%) dominate from southern race 4 (62.5%) prevails northern Kazakhstan. Twenty single spore collected wheat-growing areas South North Kazakhstan representing population were characterized for presence genes, using two gene specific primers. Eight (40%) positive gene, (10%) gene. not previously our country, but results show appearance south Eleven (64.7%) identified molecular markers linked tsn1 insensitive ToxA. genotypes are recommended use breeding resistance spot.

Localization of Ptr ToxA Produced by Pyrenophora tritici-repentis Reveals Protein Import into Wheat Mesophyll Cells.

The plant pathogenic fungus Pyrenophora tritici-repentis secretes host-selective toxins (HSTs) that function as pathogenicity factors. Unlike most HSTs that are products of enzymatic pathways, at least two toxins produced by P. tritici-repentis are proteins and, thus, products of single genes. Sensitivity to these toxins in the host is conferred by a single gene for each toxin. To study the sit...

Quantitative trait loci for resistance to Pyrenophora tritici-repentis race 1 in a Chinese wheat.

Tan spot, caused by Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, is an economically important foliar disease of wheat worldwide. Eight races of the pathogen have been characterized on the basis of their ability to cause necrosis or chlorosis in a set of differential wheat lines. Race 1 produces two host-selective toxins, Ptr ToxA and Ptr ToxC, that induce necrosis and chlorosis, respectively, on leaves of sen...

Necrotrophic Effector Epistasis in the Pyrenophora tritici-repentis-Wheat Interaction

Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, the causal agent of tan spot disease of wheat, mediates disease by the production of host-selective toxins (HST). The known toxins are recognized in an 'inverse' gene-for-gene manner, where each is perceived by the product of a unique locus in the host and recognition leads to disease susceptibility. Given the importance of HSTs in disease development, we would pre...

Structure of Ptr ToxA: an RGD-containing host-selective toxin from Pyrenophora tritici-repentis.

Tan spot of wheat (Triticum aestivum), caused by the fungus Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, has significant agricultural and economic impact. Ptr ToxA (ToxA), the first discovered proteinaceous host-selective toxin, is produced by certain P. tritici-repentis races and is necessary and sufficient to cause cell death in sensitive wheat cultivars. We present here the high-resolution crystal structur...

Simple Method to Produce in vitro Pyrenophora tritici-repentis Teleomorph

A fungus Pyrenophora tritici-repentis induces tan spot of wheat which is a foliar disease that causes yield loss to wheat crops worldwide. In this study, a new, simple and non-costly technique was performed to produce the sexual stage of this fungus in culture, within 9 weeks using wheat straw. This protocol will be helpful to researchers studying the biology of sexual stage development, diseas...
